The Afro Latin Jazz Alliance announces that it will celebrate the 10th Anniversary season of the GRAMMY® Award-winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (ALJO), directed by Arturo O'Farrill, in 2011/12 at Symphony Space on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

Bobby Sanabria, Eddie Palmieri, Candido et al., Press Conference re: The GRAMMY Travesty

On Sunday, May 22nd at 1 pm, world-renowned artists, celebrities, writers, activists and members of the media gathered at the world famous Nuyorican Poets’ Café, in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

They voiced their opposition to the recent announcement by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) to eliminate Latin Jazz from GRAMMY consideration, as well as other styles of music that are representative of the diversity of the American musical landscape.
